HID Device Privacy Policy

LG Electronics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") complies with the personal information protection regulations under the relevant laws and regulations, including the Personal Information Protection Act, in order to protect the personal information of users who use the speech recognition service (hereinafter referred to as the "Service") of HID devices provided by the Company, and establishes and discloses the following privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) in order to guide the procedures and standards for the processing of personal information to the information subject in accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act, and to promptly and smoothly handle related grievances.

1. Personal Information We Collect

The Company collects and uses personal information as follows when a customer (hereinafter referred to as a "User") uses the Service.

- Speech information, speech recognized text information, Device ID, OS information (model information), speech recognized service results

※ The HID device receives your photos from Google when it provides the Digital Gallery feature, but this information is not collected by the Company and is only used within the device to provide the relevant feature. In addition, the Company does not transfer or disclose this information to third parties.
The HID Device’s use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

2. How We Use This Information

The Company uses personal information collected to provide =speech recognition service and Service improvement and development. The collected personal information will not be used for any purpose other than the above, and prior consent will be sought if the purpose of use is changed

3. Retention and Use Period of Personal Information

In principle, we process and retain information during the period of Service use. However, if it is necessary to retain personal information in accordance with the provisions of relevant laws and regulations or the Company's internal policies, we may retain the personal information in accordance with the provisions of relevant laws and regulations and the Company's Privacy Policy. The matters in which the Company retains personal information in accordance with the provisions of relevant laws and internal policies are as follows.

1. Where required by relevant laws and regulations.

• Records on contract or cancellation of subscription: 5 years (E-commerce Consumer Protection Act, etc.)

• Records of payment and delivery of goods, etc.: 5 years (Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce Act, etc.)

• Records of consumer complaints or dispute settlement: 3 years (Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce Act, etc.)

• User's Internet log records, access location tracking data, website visit records: 3 months (Protection of Communications Secrets Act)

• Other communication confirmation data: 12 months (Protection of Communications Secrets Act)

• Labeling and advertising records: 6 months (Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.)

2. Retention Authority for Personal Information Retained in accordance with the Company's Internal Policy

• If the consent of the user is obtained individually: Period for which consent has been obtained

• Information necessary to identify fraudulent registration and use of the Service (ID, device information, Service usage log and items to be collected, date and time of withdrawal, reason for withdrawal): Until the relevant dispute is resolved

• In the event of a dispute between the Company and the user, such as a complaint or lawsuit, if the dispute is not resolved within the retention period: Until the dispute is resolved

4. Procedures and Methods for Deletion of Personal Information

The Company will promptly delete the User's personal information without delay when the purpose of collecting and using the personal information is achieved.

If it is necessary to continue to store personal information in accordance with other laws and regulations even after the expiration of the personal information retention period agreed by the user or after the purpose of processing the personal information has been achieved, the personal information will be transferred to a separate database (DB) or stored in a different storage location.

The Company's procedure and method for deleting personal information is as follows.

A. Procedure

After the purpose is achieved, personal information is delete after being stored for a certain period of time in accordance with the internal policy and other relevant laws and regulations.

B. Deletion Method

Personal information printed on paper will be shredded with a shredder or incinerated, and personal information stored in the form of an electronic file will be erased using a technical method that makes it impossible to reproduce the record.

5. Measures to Ensure the Security of Personal Information

The Company takes the following technical, managerial, and physical measures to ensure the security of users' personal information so that it is not lost, stolen, disclosed, altered, or damaged.

A. Technical safeguards

• The Company manages access rights to personal information processing systems, etc., controls access (installation of intrusion prevention system, vulnerability analysis system, etc.), and stores and backs up access records.

• The Company protects personal information using a cryptographic algorithm and encrypts one-way authentication information. This excludes ad trackers.

B. Administrative safeguards

• The Company will establish and implement an internal management plan.

• The Company will conduct regular training for employees who process personal information.

C. Physical safeguards

• The Company limits access where there is a separate physical location where personal information is stored, such as a computer room or a data storage room.

6. Rights and Obligations of Data Subjects and Legal Representatives and Methods of Exercising Rights

Users and their legal representatives may exercise the following rights with regard to the processing of personal information.

A. Right of access, rectification, erasure, and stop processing of personal information

Users and their legal representatives may, at any time, inspect or correct the personal information registered about them or their minor users, and request its deletion or stop processing.

If a user or their legal representative wishes to inspect, correct, delete or stop the processing of personal information, the Company will act promptly by contacting the Company's Data Protection Officer in writing or by e-mail.

Requests for inspection and suspension of the processing of personal information may be limited in accordance with Article 35, Paragraph 4 and Article 37, Paragraph 2 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

Requests for correction or deletion of personal information cannot be made if the personal information is specified as the object of collection under other laws and regulations.

B. Right to withdraw consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information

Users and their legal representatives may at any time withdraw their consent to the collection, use and provision of the personal information of their registered users or minors.

To do so, the User may withdraw consent on the settings page of the HID Device or request withdrawal by contacting the Company's Data Protection Officer and the Designated Person in writing or by e-mail. In such cases, the Company will take the necessary measures, such as deleting the personal information after the identity verification procedure.

7. Personal Information Protection Manager and Department Receiving and Handling Complaints

In order to protect users' personal information and handle complaints related to personal information, the Company has a person in charge of personal information protection as follows. Users may report any complaints related to the protection of personal information protection that occur while using LG Electronics services to the person in charge of personal information management, and the Company will provide prompt and sufficient answers to the reports.
